Dhaka, 18 September, Abnews: The ‘National Planning and Development Academy Bill, 2018’ was passed in the parliament today with a view to establish a national body for producing skilled manpower by imparting them time-befitting training.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal moved the bill in the parliament which was passed unanimously in voice votes with Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair.
The proposed act will replace the Government Education and Training Institution (Amendment)
Ordinance 1979.
As per the new act, the headquarters of the Academy will be established in Dhaka and its branches will be set up anywhere of the country, if necessary, with prior government permission.
There will be a 15-member Board of Directors, including chairman and vice chairman.
The relevant minister and state minister will be made chairman and vice-chairman of the institution, while its director general will act its member secretary. – BSS
