Dhaka, 19 August, Abnews: Separate courts here on Sunday granted bail to 25 private university students, accused in two cases filed over vandalism and attacks on police, during the student movement demanding safe roads.
Those secured bail are Mashad Mortuza Bin Ahad, Sakhawat Hossain Nizhum, Shihad Shahriar, Azizul Karim Antor, Mehdi Hasan, Foyez Ahmed Adnan, Noor Mohammad, Jahidul Haque, Iftekhar Ahmed, Mohammad Hasan, Redwan Ahmed, Tariqul Islam, AHM Khaled Reza, Reza Rifat Akhlaque, Rashedul Islam, Shohagh Khan, Mashriful Alam, Tamal Samad, Mahmudur Rahman, Mahabubur Rahman Naim, Omar Siam, Iqbal Hasan, Naimur Rahman, Minhazul Islam and Mushfiqur Rahman.
Of them, 16 were accused in a case filed with Badda Police Station, seven in another case filed with Bhatara Police Station and nine others in a case filed with Dhanmondi Police Station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Moinuddin Siddiqi granted bail to 15 students while Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman Hero granted bail to Iftekhar Ahmed and Mohammad Sarafuzzaman Ansari granted bail to nine students after hearing their separate bail petitions.
Twenty-two students of seven private universities were arrested in two cases filed with Badda and Bhatara police stations on the ninth day of the road safety movement on August 6.
Later, they were denied bail several times.
