Dhaka, 11 August, Abnews: The National Moon Sighting Committee will fix the date of this year’s Eid-ul-Azha on August 12, Sunday depending on the sighting of the moon of Arabic month Jilhajj.
Islamic Foundation issued a statement in this regard on Satudray.
The meeting will be chaired by Religious Affairs Minister Matior Rahman.
Notably, the government has already set Aug 21-23 as the official Eid holidays.
Holidays will not be extended in case Eid is celebrated on Aug 23 as Aug 24 and Aug 25 fall on the weekend.
