Dhaka, 9 August, Abnews: Foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali began his 4-day visit to Myanmar on Thursday to discuss progress on Rohingya repatriation with Myanmar leadership.
Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque and members of the joint working group on Rohingya repatriation will accompany the foreign minister during the visit, reports UNB.
Minister Ali left Dhaka for Myanmar at 11:55pm on Wednesday, an official told UNB.
In addition to holding meetings with Myanmar leaders, the foreign minister is likely to visit Northern Rakhine.
On Tuesday, Bangladesh and Japan shared five specific proposals to find an early solution to the Rohingya crisis ensuring the safe, voluntary, and sustainable return of Rohingya refugees to Myanmar.
