Over 25,000 cases lodged on second day
Dhaka, 7 August, Abnews: Police have lodged 25,882 cases on the second day of Traffic Week on Monday.

The cases were filed for traffic violations like wrong side driving, using hydraulic horns and not having driving licenses or fitness certificates.

In Dhaka city alone, DMP filed 8,898 such cases in the last 24 hours, an official at the police headquarters told reporters.

Amid widespread protests following the death of two college students in Dhaka’s Airport road on July 9, Dhaka Metropolitan Police decided to take strict measures against traffic offences.

Traffic Week began from Sunday, with police filing 19,366 cases for violating traffic rules across the country.

The police had called to hold a traffic week to purge on rowdy drivers to meet the demand of the students.
