Quota reform leader remanded
Dhaka, 2 July, Abnews:  A Dhaka court on Monday has placed Rashed Khan, joint convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, on a five-day remand in a case filed under the controversial Section 57 of Information Communication Technology (ICT) Act.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raihan Ul Islam passed the remand order after Sub-Inspector (SI) of Detectives Branch (DB) of police Sajibuzzaman, also the investigating officer of the case, produced him before the court seeking a 10-day remand for him.
 
Lawyers Jaidur Rahman Zahid and Md Nuruzzaman filed a bail petition for Rashed seeking the cancellation of the remand.
 
Earlier, the Detective Branch (DB) of Police on Sunday arrested Rashed Khan, joint convener of Bangladesh General Students’ Rights Protection Forum, from Bhasantek area in the city.
