One killed in Tangail 'gunfight'
Tangail, 3 June, Abnews: A suspected drug peddler was killed in a shootout with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Golra area of Paikra union under Kalihati upazila of the district early Sunday.
 
The deceased were identified as Md. Ruhul, 28, son of Abdul Gani.
 
Tipped off, a team of RAB conducted raid in the area, said Tangail RAB-12 deputy commander and operation Major Mohammad Rabiul Islam . Sensing the presence of RAB, drug traders opened fire aiming the RAB personnel prompting them to retaliate trigerring a gunfight.
 
At one stage, the drug traders fled the scene. Later, the law enforcers found bullet-hit Ruhul in the area and sent him to Tangail General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
 
Following the gunfight, two RAB personnel also received injury.
