Dhaka, 16 May, Abnews: Police have arrested four KSRM officials after a charge of negligence was filed over the stampede during the iftar items distribution programme.
The arrestees were identified as Muradul Alam Murad, 27, Md Idris, 26, Habib Ahmad Shahed, 32, and Asgor Ali, 28.
A resident of Khagria Union and husband of stampede victim Hasina Akter, filed the case with the police station on Tuesday, said Satkania Police Station OC Rafiqul Hossain said Mohammad Islam.
The case was filed against KSRM Managing Director Md Shahjahan and some unidentified people who were involved in the distribution programme.
OC Rafiqul added that they arrested the four in a drive in the area surrounding Shahjahan’s house at Gatiadanga.
He also said that the other accused will also be arrested soon as the law enforcers are conducting drives to catch them.
On Monday last, eleven people were killed and around 50 others were injured in stampede as a huge number of people gathered to collect iftar items distributed by KSRM at a madrasa field in Chittagong’s Satkania ahead of Ramadan.
