Dhaka, 26 Mar, Abnews: A fire broke out at Korail slum in Mohakhali area of the capital early Monday.
The fire originated around 4:00am. On information, nine fire units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after two hours efforts of frantic effort.
Fire Service and civil defense duty officer Rasel Sikdar said that the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
It may be mentioned here that on March 14, over hundreds of houses were burnt down in the slum.
Korail is the largest slum in Dhaka, spread over 150 acres of land across Gulshan-Banani area and divided by a lake. The slum sits on prime real estate owned by Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited and has avoided several eviction attempts over the years.
