Dhaka 20 Mar, Abnews: Karan Johar-Abhishek Varman's next film has come as a double blessing for Madhuri Dixit Nene.
In the film, Madhuri, 50, will not only have the honour of replacing late actress Sridevi, but will also get to reunite with her Khalnayakco-star Sanjay Dutt. Yes, Abhishek Varman’s upcoming film will mark the filmy reunion of Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt after a hiatus of 21 years.
The duo, which set the ‘90’s film screen ablaze with their chemistry, was last seen together in Mahaanta (1997). They had previously worked together in Saajan, Thanedaar, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Ilaaka, Sahibaan and Kanoon Apna Apna.
Around the same time, rumours of Madhuri and Sanjay’s alleged love affair were known to rule tabloid headlines. However, after Sanjay Dutt’s TADA arrest in 1993, their relationship was reported to quickly crumble.
Confirming Madhuri’s entry into the world of Shiddat, Janhvi Kapoor recently announced on Instagram, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ….Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film….”
The yet-to-be-titled film also stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. Abhishek Verman had previously directed Alia Bhatt in 2 States.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt’s close friend and associate Rajkumar Hirani is finishing up his much-awaited Dutt biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor. However, according to earlier reports, the Madhuri Dixit chapter of Sanjay Dutt’s life will not be explored in Raju Hirani’s film.
