Dhaka, 20 Feb, Abnews: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor's periodic drama 'Padmaavat', which released amidst a lot of controversies, has been on a triumphant run at the ticket counter and there's just no stopping it.
Helmed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film has been lauded for its spectacular visual effects and performances by the lead actors. Bollywood megastars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan even took to social media to praise the film and the actors.
'Padmaavat' went on to mint Rs 1.50 crore on its twenty-sixth day at the domestic box office, taking its overall tally to an astounding Rs 264 crore. The film is now powering its way to the Rs 275 crore mark.
The film, which is based on 16th Century poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's 'Padmaavat', got mired in controversy after various Rajput groups, including the Karni Sena, alleged that it distorts historical facts, a claim repeatedly denied by Bhansali. – Times of India
