Bangladesh opens hotline for Maldives crisis
Dhaka, 6 Feb, Abnews: Bangladesh has asked its nationals to remain cautious in Maldives and opened a hotline for its citizens living there as Maldives President Abdulla Yameen declared a state of emergency in the country on Monday.

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Male, in a circular, asked expatriates and visitors not to stay outside unnecessarily and avoid gatherings such as rallies, meetings and processions.

Bangladeshis in Male have been asked to call the embassy on +9603320859 for any support.

Earlier, Maldives President Abdulla Yameen declared a 15-day state of emergency and ordered security forces into the Supreme Court to arrest a former president, in moves as political crisis worsens in the nation.
