Dhaka, 1 Feb, Abnews: The court on Thursday fixed February 25, 26 for the next hearing of Zia Charitable Trust graft case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and three other accused.
Judge Md Akhteruzzaman of Dhaka Special Court-5 fixed the date for placing arguments of lawyer of accused Ziaul Islam Munna and Md Aminul Islam.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was present during the hearing.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case on July 3, 2008, with Ramna Police Station where Khaleda, her elder son Tarique Rahman and four others were accused of misappropriating over Tk 2.10 crore that was received as grants for orphans via a foreign bank.
On August 8, 2011 the ACC filed a graft case accusing Khaleda and three others of abusing power in setting up the charity.
The other accused are Harris Chowdhury, Ziaul Islam Munna, and Monirul Islam Khan.
