Lalmonirhat, 28 Jan, Abnews: A Bangladeshi youth was allegedly beaten to death by members of Border Security Force of (BSF) near Burimari border in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat early Sunday, reports news agency UNB.
The deceased was identified as Manjurul Alam ( 21), son of Asadul Islam, a resident of Ufarmara village in the upazila, was a cattle trader.
Some BSF members of Changrabandha camp in India’s Cooch Behar district caught Manjurul after he entered Indian territory illegally for bringing cattle. Later, they allegedly beat Manjur to death and left his body at zero point, said BGB sources.
BGB members at Burimari camp sent the body to Patgram police station.
Major Syed Moniruzzaman, acting commanding officer of BGB Battalion 61, said they had sent a letter to the BSF protesting the incident. However, BSF have not replied yet.
