Dhaka, 28 Jan, Abnews: Bangladesh and Indonesia on Sunday signed five instruments, including two memorandums of understanding (MoUs), aiming to enhance bilateral relations, trade and investment, and boosting cooperation in different sectors between the two countries, reports UNB.
The instruments were inked in the presence of visiting Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday.
Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed and trade minister of Indonesia Enggartiasto Lusitania signed the joint ministerial statement on launching negotiations for Bangladesh-Indonesia preferential trade agreement for the respective sides.
The MoU on Establishment Foreign Office Consultations was inked by Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi.
Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda and Indonesian Minister Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi penned the Joint Communique on cooperation to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing and to promote sustainable fisheries governance.
