Dhaka, 14 Jan, Abnews: The appellate division of the Supreme Court has upheld the chamber Judges Court verdict that halted the HC order that stayed two circulars of BTRC inviting applications for auction of 4G spectrum for the telecommunication industry.
A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by acting chief justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah, passed the order on Sundayafter disposing of a petition filed by BTRC seeking a stay on the HC order.
On January 11, the SC stayed a HC order that halted the auctioning of 4G spectrum for the telecommunication industry of Bangladesh.
On the same day, the HC stayed effectiveness of two BTRC circulars inviting applications for the 4G spectrum auctioning.
The move came out following the writ petition filed by Banglalion Communications Limited. who claimed of rules being flouted while publicising a circular of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
