Dhaka, 8 Jan, Abnews: Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River resumed on Monday morning after two and a half hours of disruption caused by heavy fog.
Authorities on Paturia-Daulatdia kept the route shut since 5:30 am to 8 am due to blurred visibility caused by dense fog, said Mohiuddin Russell, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha ghat.
Three ferries remained motionless in the middle of the river while 13 more remained anchored at Paturia and Daulatdia ghats. About 300 hundred vehicles, including buses, trucks and cars, remained stranded at both sides of the river.
Later, ferry services resumed around 8 am as fog disappeared.
