Teachers strike, 8 falls sick
Dhaka, 24 Dec, Abnews: The indefinite hunger strike enforced by the assistant teachers of the state-run primary schools demanding upgrade of their salary scale entered second day on Sunday.
 
Eight teachers fell sick in two days of the indefinite hunger strike enforced by the assistant teachers of the state-run primary schools demanding upgrade of their salary scale.
 
They are being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital.
 
The sick teachers are—Md Jahangir Alam, Ajmol Hossain, Abdul Mannan, Md Haque Mia, Md Nazrul Islam, Al Faruqui Rashed, Nasrin Aktar and Anwar Hossain. They are from different primary schools.
 
Earlier, assistant teachers of primary schools undertook fast-unto-death demanding their salary scale to be raised just next to the headmasters' of school.
 
A combined platform of assistant teachers of 10 organizations, began the strike at Central Shaheed Minar on Saturday.
