Dhaka, 19 Dec, Abnews: Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as he started his two-day visit to Bangladesh to see first-hand the plight of the Rohingya refugees.
Bangladesh premier Sheikh Hasina gave the Turkish prime minister a heartfelt welcome and greeted him with flowers after he arrived at her offices around 3pm on Tuesday.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali also accompanied the PM.
After a tour of the offices, Yildirim and PM Sheikh Hasina held a private meeting.
Delegations from Turkey and Bangladesh later met for bilateral talks led by the two prime ministers where they signed two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The documents are Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Small and Medium Enterprise Foundation, Bangladesh and Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization, and another MoU between Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Turkish Standards Institution (TSI).
Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials said the two sides discussed the Rohingya crisis, bilateral trade and investment.
Yildirim arrived in Dhaka for his official two-day visit on Monday night.
