Dhaka, 13 August, Abnews: Bangladesh University organized a discussion meeting followed by a Doa Mahfil on the occasion of the National Mourning Day and 42nd death anniversary of the father of nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Sunday (August 13, 2017) at University Conference Room.
Engr. M.A. Ghulam Dastagir, Secretary of BoT chaired the program. Prof Dr. Anwarul Haque Sharif, Vice Chancellor, Treasure Mr. Kamrul Hasan, Registrar Major Niaz Mohammed Khan (Retd.), Director (Admin & Security) Major (Retd.) KSM Ezaz Afzal, BP, Dean of different faculties, Heads of different Departments, teachers, officers and a large number of students were present in the program.
The discussants in the meeting express that it is a day of shame and mourning as well. They also pointed out that Liberation War and glorious Victory in 1971 was the final outcome of so many memorable movements and incidents like language movement in 1952; 6 points movement in 1966; Agartala Conspiracy Case in 1968 and Mass Upsurge in 1969. And Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman led all the movements from the fore front. He is the most successful political leader in the world history, they added. Due to his uncompromising and far seeing political leadership, we have got our today’s Bangladesh. The discussants pledged for making the dream true to build up Sonar Bangla what Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman once dreamt of, holding our head high.
At the end of the program a Doa Mahfil was also held for the salvation and peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
