Students demand withdrawal of case against 1,200
Dhaka, July 22, Abnews: A group of students of Dhaka College on Saturday have withdrawn the road blockade in front of Nilkhet and New Market protesting police attacks, shootings and cases against seven college students affiliated to Dhaka University.
 
Protesters said a human chain will be held in front of the National Press Club to protest the police attack and implement seven-point demand at 4pm.
 
Earlier today, Students of  Dhaka College started slogan by blocking the road in New Market Crossing and Nilakhet. 
 
In the protest of the same incident, students of affiliated seven colleges protested and conducted human chain in front of their respective colleges in the morning.
 
New Market Police said they kept the students surrounded during the blockade. However, the traffic movement in New Market area is normal.
 
On 22 July, 13 students were held and three were injured after a clash erupted with police and students while staging demonstration at Dhaka’s Shahbagh demanding announcement of dates and schedule for their exams.
 
The students of honors brought out a procession at Shahbag demanding announcement of dates and schedule for their exams. No examinations in honors were held after bringing these colleges under Dhaka University.
 
The affiliated colleges are - Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardi College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnesa Govt. Women College, Mirpur Government Bangla College and Government Titumir College.
