Kabul, 22 June, Abnews: Gunmen backed by a car bomb blasted a bank on Thursday in Afghanistan’s restive Helmand province killing up to 20 people, according to local officials. The incident also left 50 people injured.
A car packed with explosives detonated outside the New Kabul Bank in the provincial capital of Lashkar Gah, where dozens of people, both civilans and security personnel, were waiting to receive their monthly salaries. Gunmen charged into the bank after the blast.
The Afghan Interior Ministry confirmed the matter, however, no further details regarding the casualties have been available so far.
