Dhaka University, 22 April, Abnews:The second namaz-e-janaza of renowned singer-composer Lucky Akhand was held on the compound of central mosque of Dhaka University after Zuhr prayer on Saturday.
Earliar the body of Lucky Akhand was given guard of honour at Central Shaheed Minar in the capital around 11;30am.
After that, the body was kept there for people to pay last tributes.
Earliar Lucky Akhand’s first namaz-e-janaza was held at 10:00am at Armanitola in the capital on Saturday.
Later he will be buried at Martyred Intellectual Graveyard in Mirpur, said minister Asaduzzaman Noor.
The noted singer was flown to Bangkok in September 2015 after he was diagnosed with lung cancer. However, he was brought back home after treatment for several days.
Later, he received chemotherapy in Dhaka.
On April 7, he was taken home from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University following treatment for two-and-a-half months.
Akhand started his career with self-titled solo album 'Lucky Akhand' in 1984 under the banner of Sargam.
Lucky Akhand breathed his last at his Armanitola residence around 6 pm on Friday after suffering from lung cancer.
