Jhenaidah, 22 April, Abnews: Law enforcers have recovered 14 drums of Hydrogen Peroxide from the militant den at Porahati village of Jhenidah sadar upazila on Saturday morning.
The explosives were recovered at around 10:15am.
However, no sign of militants were found inside the den, said Md Didar Ahmed, DIG of Khulna Range.
The operation will take half an hour more time, he added.
Besides, the local administration imposed section 144 around the area surrounding the den.
Earlier on Friday, Police, in collaboration with other law enforcing agencies, recovered large amount of arms and explosives from the hideout.
Police claimed that they also recovered some suicide vests and pressure-cooker bombs from inside the den.
Mahidul Islam, deputy commissioner of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said that a joint team of police, CTTC, RAB and SWAT conducted the raid at a house in Porahati village around 5:00pm suspecting a militant den.
During the operation yesterday, an IED, three suicidal vests, a pistol, a pressure cooker bomb and 20 containers filled with explosives were recovered from the hideout.
The law enforcers have resumed their operation ‘South Paw’ at the cordoned off den at 9:30 am Saturday.
