Chittagong, 24 March, Abnews: A case has been filed over the death of Chittagong University student Alauddin, whose body was recovered from a flat in the port city’s Shignagar area.
Alauddin had reportedly gone to search for a flat along with three other people on Wendnesday.
Quoting the flat owner, police told reporters that four people including a female came to see the flat that is on for rent on Wednesday around 5pm.
The landlord’s wife later found Alauddin’s body inside a toilet in the flat.
The victim’s hands and legs were tied up and he was wearing a blue shirt and jeans.
Alauddin’s father and brother identified his body at Chittagong Medical College Hospital the next day.
Alauddin was a student of Bangla at Chittagong University.
HIs father Shah Alam, had not named anyone in the case filed with the did not name an accused in the case he strted at Bayezid Bostami Police Station on Thursday night.
OC of the police station Md Mohsin said the four came to see the flat on the second floor of the three-storey building. Reportedly, the four had liked the flat and wanted to move on the same day.
“Three of them including the female went out to bring their belongings while the other stayed back to clean the place,” the police officer said.
Police were trying to trace the three who had been absconding since the incident, the OC said.
