Savar, 24 Feb, Abnews: Khadiza Begum Nargis, who was attacked by former BCL leader Badrul Alam, is set to return home from Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) in Savar today.
Authorities of the rehabilitation center on Thursday said that Khadiza’s condition is better now and she can walk properly and CRP’s high officials handed Khadiza over her family on Friday morning. Later Khadiza with her family left Saver for Sylhet by an ambulance around 9:00am.
Khadiza, during a press brief on Thursday has that wanted to start her education again right away and hopes that the prime minister Sheikh Hasina helps her.
Earlier on October 3, 2016, Khadija was indiscriminately hacked by Badrul Alam, the Assistant Secretary of SUST unit of BCL while she was returning home which left her critically injured.
Locals caught Badrul as he tried to escape and handed him to police who later confessed his crimes before a Sylhet magistrate.
Khadiza underwent three surgeries and was put on life support until October 13 at Dhaka’s Square Hospital. She was then shifted to CRP on November 28, 2016.
It may be mentioned here that law enforcers on November 8, 2016 pressed charges and indicted Badrul for attempting murder.
