Dhaka, 6 Feb, Abnews: A Sirajganj court has sent Shahjadpur Mayor Halimul Haque Miru to jail in connection with Abdul Hakim Shimul murder case.
Judge Morshed Alam of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court passed the order on Monday afternoon.
Investigation Officer Monir Hossain, inspector of Shahjadpur police station, produced the main accused Miry before the court with a seven-day remand plea.
The court asked the investigation officer to submit case documents so that they could decide on Miru’s remand.
Earlier on Sunday (Feb 5), Miru was arrested from Shyamoli of the capital.
Previously on Thursday (Feb 2), a clash erupted between two factions' of local Awami League men where separate shots have been fired.
Three people, including Abdul Hakim Shimul, were bullet-hit from Shahjadpur municipality Mayor Halimul Haque Miru’s personal shotgun.
Later, the journalist succumbed to his injuries on Friday (Feb 3).
