Dhaka, 14 Jan, Abnews: Ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) president Sheikh Hasina said on Saturday that AL has started drafting the election manifesto keeping an eye on the next general elections.
The Premier directed her party’s advisory council to form sector-wise unit for the hard days to come.
The call was made by her while addressing the party leaders at her Dhanmondi political office in Dhaka this afternoon.
“We must prepare ourselves as the national elections coming up soon,” the prime minister said urging her party activists to make preparations to the end.
“We've carried out more development in the last three years than what we pledged for in our election manifesto and are again preparing our manifesto for the next polls,” said Hasina.
"We need to make preparations of the election from right now. We have stepped into the fourth year of our tenure. It is a total of straight eight years. So, coming days are also challenging. And we have to complete the unfinished projects for the welfare of the people," she said.
She went on saying, “Elections are ahead. We will have to prepare the manifesto of the next election.”
Hasina instructed the party advisory council to form separate cells focusing on different issues and properly prepare the manifesto of the next elections.
The next general election will be held in two years, unless snap polls are announced.
